Transformation Stories

Specializing in memoirs and narratives of personal transformation.

You Have a Story Worth Telling

But writing a book? That's a different skill set entirely.

You've lived it. You've learned from it. You've transformed because of it.

What you don't have is 500 hours to turn those experiences into a compelling manuscript. Or the technical expertise to navigate publishing, ISBNs, copyright registration, and distribution.

That's where I come in.

I'm a ghostwriter who specializes in memoirs and transformational stories. I take your ideas, your experiences, your insights—and I turn them into a book that sounds exactly like you.

What Makes Me Different

I Find the Story Behind the Story

Years of interrogation, recovery meetings, and coaching sessions taught me to hear what's not being said. I pick up on non-verbal cues and pull threads that reveal the real narrative buried in the mud.

I Make Complex Ideas Simple

After testifying in countless court hearings and jury trials, I've mastered the art of breaking down complex concepts into language everyone understands. Your expertise becomes accessible.

I've Lived Transformation

Decorated law enforcement officer to rock bottom addict to author and coach. I don't just write about transformation... I've survived it. That lived experience informs every story I tell.

Full-Service, Start to Finish

Not just a manuscript. I handle interviews, editing, internal formatting, cover design, ISBN registration, Library of Congress cataloging, and copyright filing. You get a finished, published book.

The Process

Click each step to see what's involved. This is a collaborative journey from concept to published book.

01 — Discovery Call

Understanding your story and goals

+

We start with a deep conversation about your story, your goals for the book, and your target audience. I assess scope, timeline, and whether we're a good fit. No sales pitch—just an honest evaluation of your project.

What we'll discuss:

  • The core message or transformation you want to share
  • Your target readers and what you want them to take away
  • Timeline, budget, and project scope
  • Publishing goals (traditional, self-publish, or hybrid)

02 — Extensive Interviews

Capturing your voice, your story, your truth

+

Multiple recorded interview sessions where I dig deep into your experiences. I'm not just collecting facts—I'm uncovering emotions, motivations, and the moments that changed everything. You can also provide written notes, journals, or existing content.

What this looks like:

  • 3-8 hours of recorded interviews (broken into sessions)
  • I ask the questions that pull out compelling details
  • Follow-up interviews as needed to fill gaps
  • You provide any existing materials (journals, notes, outlines)

03 — Outline & Story Arc

Building the structure that makes your story work

+

I create a detailed chapter-by-chapter outline and story arc. This is where we organize your experiences into a narrative that flows, builds tension, and delivers payoff. You review and approve before I write a single word.

What you'll receive:

  • Chapter titles and summaries
  • Story arc showing narrative flow and key moments
  • Themes and threads woven throughout
  • Opportunity to provide feedback before drafting begins

04 — Rough Draft Manuscript

Your story comes to life on the page

+

I write the first draft based on our interviews and approved outline. This draft captures your voice, tells your story, and delivers the message. It won't be perfect—that's what revisions are for—but it will be complete and compelling.

What happens next:

  • You read the full manuscript
  • Mark sections that need adjustment or expansion
  • Identify any missing pieces or inaccuracies
  • We schedule follow-up interviews if needed

05 — Revisions & Re-Interviews

Refining until it's exactly right

+

Based on your feedback, I revise the manuscript. This might include additional interviews to flesh out certain sections, tightening narrative flow, or adjusting tone. We iterate until you're thrilled with the result.

Revision process:

  • Two rounds of revisions included in base package
  • Additional interviews if gaps emerge
  • Fact-checking and accuracy verification
  • Tone and voice refinement

06 — Design, Publication & Copyright

From manuscript to published book

+

I handle all technical aspects of publication: interior formatting for print and ebook, professional cover design, ISBN registration, Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN), and federal copyright registration. You receive a fully published book ready for distribution.

What's included:

  • Professional interior design and formatting
  • Custom cover design (3 concepts, up to five revisions on chosen design)
  • ISBN registration for print and ebook editions
  • Library of Congress cataloging (LCCN)
  • Federal copyright registration with copyright.gov
  • Files ready for Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, or other platforms

Who I Work With

Executives with Expertise

You've built something, learned something, or led something worth sharing. Turn your insights into a legacy book.

Transformation Stories

You've been through hell and came out the other side. Your story could save someone else's life.

Thought Leaders

You have a framework, philosophy, or approach that needs to reach a wider audience through a book.

Survivors & Overcomers

Addiction, trauma, loss, rebuilding. Stories of resilience that inspire others to keep fighting.

Legacy Projects

You want to leave something behind for your family, your community, or your industry.

Second-Act Success Stories

Career pivots, reinventions, starting over. The messy, honest truth of building something new.

Who I Don't Work With

I don't ghostwrite books for coaches who simply want a book for credibility or lead generation. If your primary goal is marketing collateral rather than a genuine story or body of work, we're not a fit.

Published Work

Acid to Assets book cover - replace with actual book cover

Acid to Assets: The Dena Gleason Story

Co-Author / Ghostwriter

A transformational memoir based on extensive interviews with entrepreneur Dena Gleason. She provided the content, the facts, and the memories. I turned them into a compelling narrative filled with emotional and business insights learned over a lifetime.

What made it work: Deep interviews that uncovered not just what happened, but why it mattered. The ability to translate lived experience into universal lessons. Balancing vulnerability with authority.

What Clients Say

Common Questions

Click any question to see the answer.

How long does the process take?

+

Typical timeline is 6-12 months from discovery call to published book. Variables include: complexity of story, availability for interviews, number of revision rounds, and cover design process. Rush timelines available for an additional fee.

What does it cost?

+

Full-service packages start at $50,000. Final pricing is project-based, not hourly, and depends on scope, length, and complexity of your book. All projects require a minimum 10% non-refundable deposit, with milestone-based payments throughout. Contact me for a custom quote.

Will it sound like me?

+

Yes! That's the entire point! Through interviews, I capture your cadence, your vocabulary, your way of explaining things. The goal is for readers—and you—to feel like you wrote it yourself. If it doesn't sound like you, I haven't done my job.

Do I get credit as the author?

+

Absolutely. You are the author. Your name goes on the cover. I can be credited in the acknowledgments if you choose, or remain completely invisible. It's your book, your story, your authorship. That's what ghostwriting means.

What if I don't have time for multiple interviews?

+

Interviews can be broken into shorter sessions that fit your schedule. Some clients provide extensive written materials, journals, or recorded content to supplement interviews. We'll find a process that works for your availability—but the interview component is essential for capturing authentic voice.

Can you help me get traditionally published?

+

I can provide guidance on the traditional publishing process and help craft query letters or proposals, but I'm not a literary agent. My focus is writing and self-publishing. Most of my clients choose self-publishing for speed to market and control over their work.
